In the past five years Karina Fernandez has performed pioneering work in the digital transformation in Shell’s Upstream, Integrated Gas, Downstream, and Chemicals and Products businesses. She has placed her focus on data as a critical foundation for the digital transformation. With her more than 20 years of experience in the end-to-end management of technology life cycles, in her current role as General Manager for Emerging Digital Technologies she is advancing Group-wide digital innovations that are made possible thanks to blockchain and Web3, IoT and edge computing, high-performance computing, XR and the metaverse as well as digital-twin technologies.
