Dr. Philip Häusser

Dr Philip Häusser is a physicist, CTO of the medical technology start-up Ablacon and a TV host. He has presented programmes for such broadcasts as Planet Wissen, Galileo (ProSieben, Terra X Lesch & Co (ZDF) and for the popular YouTube channels Phil’s Physics and Breaking Lab.

In 2018 he earned his doctorate with a thesis on neuronal networks. After stints at Google and in addition to his work for Ablacon, he has been regularly in front of the camera as science host for Bayerischer Rundfunk and also presents SWR3’s YouTube channel Faktencheck.

With his popular non-fiction book Natürlich alles künstlich! Was künstliche Intelligenz kann und was (noch) nicht – KI erklärt für alle (Naturally everything artificial! What artificial intelligence can and what it cannot (yet) do – AI explained for everyone) and his keynotes, the AI scientist and gifted storyteller wants to allay society’s fear that machines might take over in the future. Häusser is moreover actively committed to promoting AI-related education and research in Germany and serves as a member of the jury of Germany’s ‘Bundeswettbewerb Künstliche Intelligenz’ (National artificial intelligence competition).
