Prof. Dr. Dietrich Grönemeyer

Prof. Dr med. Dietrich Grönemeyer was born in Clausthal-Zellerfeld in 1952 and grew up in Bochum. He is a practising physician, emeritus professor of radiology and microtherapy at Witten/Herdecke University and the author of numerous bestsellers, including ‘Mensch bleiben’, ‘Mein Rücken’, ‘Dein Herz’, ‘Lebe MIT Herz und Seele’, ‘Weltmedizin’ and ‘Der kleine Medicus’. He epitomises the teamwork among the various medical disciplines as well as a holistic awareness of body, soul and spirit for the patient’s well-being. In 1997, Dr Grönemeyer, a back expert, founded the Grönemeyer Institute for Microtherapy in Bochum, which has since expanded to locations in Berlin, Hamburg, Cologne and Stuttgart. He is regarded as the ‘father of microtherapy’. He has been a successful entrepreneur in the health economy sector for decades and chairs the Wissenschaftsforum Ruhr e.V.
