Mats Granryd

As Director General, Mats Granryd leads the GSMA in supporting its global members through a range of industry programs, advocacy initiatives and industry-convening events. Mats is a strong supporter of sustainability and led the mobile industry to become the first sector to fully commit to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 2016. He is now spearheading initiatives to amplify and accelerate the mobile industry’s impact on all 17 of the SDGs, across both developed and developing markets. To achieve this, Mats serves on the Broadband Commission for Sustainable Development, chairing the Working Group on Digital Gender Divide, which ensures the equal inclusion of women and girls in broadband access and use. He is also the B Team leader. Prior to joining the GSMA in 2016, Mats was President and CEO of Tele2 and spent 15 years in a variety of roles at Ericsson.
