Erik Ekudden

As Ericsson’s CTO, Erik Ekudden is responsible for setting the overall technology direction of the Group. The experience he has gained in the cooperation with worldwide technology leadership will influence the strategic decisions and investments in the areas of mobility, the distributed cloud, artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things. This builds on his decades-long career in technology strategies and industry activities. Ekudden first joined Ericsson in 1993, worked on mobile systems and rapidly advanced to leadership positions in research and technology. He has served as Research Area Director and Vice President for Technology Strategy, Standardisation and Industry. He holds a Master of Science degree in electrical engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden, and since 2020 has been a member of the Broadband Commission for Sustainable Development.
