Dirk Nowitzki

Dirk Nowitzki played 21 seasons with the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA. He is the sixth-highest scorer in NBA history and the most successful scorer born outside the USA. He was the first German to be inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame. He won the first NBA championship with the Dallas Mavericks in 2011. At the 2002 FIBA World Championship, Dirk led the German national basketball team to the bronze medal. The Dallas Mavericks jersey with the 41 and the number 14 of the national team will never be given to another player. Dirk has also been a Unicef ambassador for Germany since 2013 and has set up two foundations of his own: one in Dallas and one in his home town of Würzburg - both of which focus on working with children and developing their potential.
